Me growing up in the big city “Detroit” , Michigan; it is a lot to the neighborhood life here. You have people at the local barbershops having cookouts with their barbeque grills fired up. You got some people selling water bottles on street corners. We have abandoned buildings and dilapidated houses but still got community leaders that want to see the better of the city. Detroit is more than Detroit, it is a town that consist of hero’s, workers and hustlers. They say the dollar is the common ground of why Detroiters move. In my eyes it is more than that, I believe it is the love of their life, family and sometimes careers.
I think a human beings greatest threat is a dollar. Yes, are actions must equate to making the dollar. When we receive payment for our deeds, it is a kind thank you for the quality of work I did for today. That is not what defines business though, I think business comes from having a passion for the community. Knowing the ins and outs of your local scene to be able to build up a strive- contributing to economic success. I would not describe Detroit as a city of, “hustlers”. Maybe that is the case in the more urban areas. When the bigger thought is captured in the mind and heart of a Detroiter. It is a better life that is being chased.
With the economic declined that happened when Kwame Kilpatrick was in office. We watched the population decreased from at-least a million going down too six-hundred thousand. Moving to places like California, Arizona and even Atlanta. The dollars value here has inflated, rising cost and people being lost out of a house. Fast forward too the year 2018, the city has now became better. Downtown Detroit is seeing a revitalization and the artist community is starting to thrive along with it. In my opinion, what makes a Detroiter ? The grit, grime and never being able to be killed. What won’t kill me, will make me stronger.
I believe in my heart of hearts you can not determine a persons success rate off of Astrology/Numerology. When I had did my readings It tells me my personality type and who I am. In my eyes that is false, I do not believe in the fact that I am who I am because of what a calculator has to tell me. I think hard work and dedication will lead people to the direction they want to land in. I do believe everything has a pre-destined route but famously quoted from Bill Gates, “If you’re born poor it’s not your mistake. But if you die poor, it’s your mistake.”. Why let the “universe” control who you are, instead take that control on for your self.
I think Numerology and Tarot readings help manifest your desires in hearing positive reinforcement traits too chase after what it is you are looking for in life. I think when we turn to these type of readings we often have a fear of not knowing where we are going to go in life. Wondering, what is the next step Im going to take in order for success to happen in my faith. When we look at the world in general, many leaders and business owners took advantage of the free-world market in order for a gain to happen in their story. Be strategic in what it is you want to accomplish then follow through with persistence. You see a demand for something, you fill that demand. You see some down-falls in who you are a person then fix it. Do not let the words of another tell you where you are going to be in life. That is like believing in the words of a false-prophet, being sheep lead into the darkness. Do not let out see you, you see out.
Ghost Face has came back to grace the hip-hop scene once again, dropping a project for his fans. The Brown Tape identifies with lyricism amongst dirty grunge hip-hop sample style beats, crafted by non-other than Detroit producer Apollo Brown. The hip-hop project starts out with a narrative speaker describing a man in a crime forbidden city. The track kicks off with a ghostly sample having Ghost Face describe a gangster lifestyle that is super powered with the strength of five Tony Montana’s in one human. Ghost Face tells a tale of murdering off a whole family tree, a cold hard killer, he embodies the mindset of a Texas Chain Saw massacre horror flick.
Ghost Face is a gangster making money off the dirty lifestyle that comes with being a cocaine dealing superhero that lies low on the city streets. Still having the mindset of cash rules everything around me, he continues too rake in the money, by any means necessary. The production on this tape matches with what is portrayed. My favorite beat on this tape is “I Declare War”. With the Vinyl sound still placed within the hip-hop track that has a catchy loop, it instantly gives me the feeling of nostalgia. The verses end with a singer that has as much soul as a sixties street corner.
Being a new millennial that is being introduced to other forms of hip-hop, this may be hard to digest. But if you are a person with a matured perspective of music and is a die hard Ghost fan. This tape will instantly go inside of any playlist that has an appreciation for this type of music.
