Kingprez is an artist that has many dimensions to his music. His first project Road runner showed him rapping double timed. Aiming to appease the ears of masses. Then going into music experimentation with different projects he dropped. His cover arts are usually the classic definition of bandcamp cover art. We covered a couple topics. Interview above
Future new project “Save Me” has less hard hitting baselines that bounces for modern day dance music. The new direction he took on Save Me has more reverb and laid back production. The melodic rapper usually does dark music that does not bring attention to himself as an emcee. Usually the rapper falls into the beat, being the production itself. The artist here still keeps songs that are derogatory in subject. This is usually Futures best selling points.
Future best song on the album has to be Extra. Extra has all the makings of a good dance floor ballad. The lights has to be dancing red as the motion in the room becomes slowed. He is intoxicated in the production as he sings about his lifestyle. The lifestyle he lives is extra, everything he does is bigger than life. A lot of the engineering done on this cut stands out, as it all balances together for the frequencies and the different voices used. Making this a standout cut on the album.
Overall the album goes into Future delving into a cool ass lifestyle. His music is usually used to describe the context of drug culture. Future music is great for wanting to enjoy all the sin the world as to offer. This type of music is usually good after party music. The songs on his album are very good music used for chilling on a late night drive.
Right now in current culture, competition has westernized the black male. Competition has helped molded the conscious culture not to speak out of love. But to prove that I can lead off being more smarter than you. While drinking heavy doses of liquor, bottle by bottle. Sitting in a throne with a head held so high you can not even see the ones falling before you parish. When we think of our economic resources, we talk with hot air spending it out of ignorance.
The ignorance of our sin has given a grace to breed a species that only care of themselves. Drinking poisons that are fed from billion dollar industries that were built off the backs of slaves. Only for them to display our culture as people that need to worship the material possessions. Becoming even more rich as our people die, day by day. While we have our artist re-chant the songs that make corporate america even more rich.
It has gotten so bad to the point black media as an indie source now self-destructs on it’s own. Because of the lies that are woven so deep into our culture for years and years. That it has gotten to the point, I do not even have to do it. It self drives it’s own destiny. As the rich smiles in our face, while the broken boy that is black faces a destiny of being shot. Then the rich people laughs even more as our worshiped artist sings this same song.
We embraced a capitalistic mindset when we can not accomplish true capitalism that makes this culture go further. While this is happening, the black race is being at face for extinction. Making everything that encompass an African-american culture become non-existent. Ego has became a forefront, making our hands beat on our chest as it has always been depicted.
I first discovered Terra Lightfoot from the single, No Hurry. I was quite impressed by the songs up-beat tempo and vocals I find unique. The song has no consequences when you enjoy the powerful vocals passionately exclaiming there is No Hurry. The song lyrics remind you of a love ballad. Showing us a very troubled affair that can’t escape from your mind. The song claims that they have an eternity to spend together so it is no hurry. Enjoy the time that is spent with each other even though there are troubles on the path.
Their latest album “New Mistakes”, Terra Lightfoot release a video for their song, “Ruthless”. This single compared to No Hurry has more of a slowed tempo with elements of country. The lead singer hits a falsetto as she sings about her hard-core love she have for someone. The visuals for this song has her in a room by herself strumming a guitar. Walking through a snow-storm. The video shows her band members absent and she sits down as memories of them play on a dated B&W television. Could this song be expressing the love she has for her band members and them not being there.
With the corruption happening inside of the Republican party: Donald Trump continues to lose in public favor. MTV has had enough and decide for a political stance. Urging our younger demographics to rage out in the voting booth. As we have felt powerless for a long time, MTV as a media outlet chose to emphasis the control voting has. Although their stance is not bias, it is favoring Democrats efforts into alluring more young adults into voting. MTV plans to bring in about one-thousand people to take a vote. MTV even has support by people of political power, channeling investments into their pockets. This will also increase the strength of the stance they are taking.
With Donald Trump not giving a F**** about global issues and mining the world out of precious resources. While also, blaming immigrants for the reason America is losing, when some of had to work and they came here with nothing. Trump also added Salt in the womb. The Me Too movement that is happening right now, highlighted him as a president in the past downplaying woman as sexual objects. This man is the reason why we are failing as a country. We was outraged on social media and did not to take a stand to vote, in the end we failed. MTV wants this generations voice to be heard for an impact that will save us for the times of tomorrow. MTV as an outlet believes in people being their authentic selves. Embracing unity and diversity in our fifty-states we live in. This media company has always been the strength of what is popular. Take a stand with our countries favored media outlet and go vote today.
Ghost Face has came back to grace the hip-hop scene once again, dropping a project for his fans. The Brown Tape identifies with lyricism amongst dirty grunge hip-hop sample style beats, crafted by non-other than Detroit producer Apollo Brown. The hip-hop project starts out with a narrative speaker describing a man in a crime forbidden city. The track kicks off with a ghostly sample having Ghost Face describe a gangster lifestyle that is super powered with the strength of five Tony Montana’s in one human. Ghost Face tells a tale of murdering off a whole family tree, a cold hard killer, he embodies the mindset of a Texas Chain Saw massacre horror flick.
Ghost Face is a gangster making money off the dirty lifestyle that comes with being a cocaine dealing superhero that lies low on the city streets. Still having the mindset of cash rules everything around me, he continues too rake in the money, by any means necessary. The production on this tape matches with what is portrayed. My favorite beat on this tape is “I Declare War”. With the Vinyl sound still placed within the hip-hop track that has a catchy loop, it instantly gives me the feeling of nostalgia. The verses end with a singer that has as much soul as a sixties street corner.
Being a new millennial that is being introduced to other forms of hip-hop, this may be hard to digest. But if you are a person with a matured perspective of music and is a die hard Ghost fan. This tape will instantly go inside of any playlist that has an appreciation for this type of music.
Rosie And The Fellas have build a unique lane for themselves that has not been explored yet in Detroit. I would describe this eclectic music group as pop/punk/rap mixed in a gumbo pot to give an authentic flavor that is surely to die for. The video was done by JayShotIt, the sequence of shots that went into this video is very dynamic. It jumped from one scene to another. The first was a short skit, describing the difference between how a man and a woman thinks. Then it showed Rosie exiting her vehicle to meet up for a crazy party on the altar. The scenes jump in between Rosie propped against a tree and True Animal walking the street with his posse. To add extra flavor within the video, it showed the band performing their single with smoke surrounding their one of a kind stage presence. Make sure too keep up with Rosie And The Fellas and vote for them for the MWVMA Awards. They are making power moves within the media industry.
