Slifer The Sky Dragon was a ferocious deity sealed away inside a stone tablet. Atem had this as his stead then to be inherited by Yugi Mutou on the search to gain back the pharaohs memories. This card having been introduced In the battle city arch, was seen as Yugi’s first god card. The original adaptation of Slifer The Sky Dragon was meant to be Osiris The Sky Dragon. Which is a pharaoh that was overseer of the Afterlife and underworld.

Osiris lead his people from great famine, creating fertility among the crops. People during this time believed in ritualistic children sacrifices. Heartache and confusion with people spirituality took a great toll on the land. Making it hard for their country men to  prosper. The god Osiris risen, showing people how to take advantage of their soil. He single handily reverse curses of past rituals, stopping child killings. At the end of it all Osiris met an end. Only to be killed by Set. Jealousy took control of the heart, leading Osiris to an unfortunate end.

Slifer The Sky dragon is an adaptation of Osiris. The qualities that make up the character Osiris is an unique one. He only wanted to protect his people and is described as a protagonist in his story. Yugi Mutou has the same qualities that would make up a pharaoh looking after his people. Offering protection and guidance during the perils of battle. Only to turn out victor at the end of it all. Also the person that killed Osiris has a name familiar to Yugi’s main rival, Seto Kaiba. Both of them fight it out, only to fulfill their inner most desire, Being The King of Duels. Kaiba animosity toward Yu-Gi had no ends. As Kaiba would go through great length just to receive great power, only for Yu-Gi to be able to beat him in the end.
