What goes on the wild west that we call social media. It has not gone through a balance and check system to determine if it is good or not. I think it is a bit problematic when anybody are able to have a voice. It is easy to find others to agree with your opinion when it is not the truth. I think corporations still have a huge benefit for a person that creates content. When a corporation steps in, it has to go through a check and balance system that has to be seen as profitable and a big success to even hit the big screens. I am not saying that when a corporation puts their hand in the pie it becomes better. Sometimes raw artist are better when they are pure: left in original form.
Social media allows different view points into are lifestyle. Which can cause a positive impact or even a negative one, depending on the voice. Also social media is representative as close to real life as it gets. When determining social media as a place of entertainment it can cause depression. For the person making it or even the person viewing it. I think what makes people gravitate on commercial products is that you know it is official. It has a trusted name brand attached to it that is known for delivering the highest level quality product possible to its consumer. I know in my mind, I will not see a pro neo-nazi television show become an entertainment platform on HBO like it has on Redit. In this day in age, allowing every one to have a voice is great. But when we over-consume social media, we lose our taste on good content.
