Ghost Face has came back to grace the hip-hop scene once again, dropping a project for his fans. The Brown Tape identifies with lyricism amongst dirty grunge hip-hop sample style beats, crafted by non-other than Detroit producer Apollo Brown. The hip-hop project starts out with a narrative speaker describing a man in a crime forbidden city. The track kicks off with a ghostly sample having Ghost Face describe a gangster lifestyle that is super powered with the strength of five Tony Montana’s in one human. Ghost Face tells a tale of murdering off a whole family tree, a cold hard killer, he embodies the mindset of a Texas Chain Saw massacre horror flick.

Ghost Face is a gangster making money off the dirty lifestyle that comes with being a cocaine dealing superhero that lies low on the city streets. Still having the mindset of cash rules everything around me, he continues too rake in the money, by any means necessary. The production on this tape matches with what is portrayed. My favorite beat on this tape is “I Declare War”. With the Vinyl sound still placed within the hip-hop track that has a catchy loop, it instantly gives me the feeling of nostalgia. The verses end with a singer that has as much soul as a sixties street corner.

Being a new millennial that is being introduced to other forms of hip-hop, this may be hard to digest. But if you are a person with a matured perspective of music and is a die hard Ghost fan. This tape will instantly go inside of any playlist that has an appreciation for this type of music.
